this Ohme Home Pro EV charger has a lot of features that are not available on cheaper models, once the app is downloaded you can lock this charger by only approving charges on your phone. You can set different times, including quick charge. We use ours to charge up at night (easy to set up this function) when it is cheaper, costs around £5 for a full charge which in current times is not to bad. I feel it is easy to use and I am very pleased with its functions and useability.

This comes with no instructions, which is not ideal as it’s ridiculously complicated to use. You can create endless charging schedules, but if you want a quick charge, it won’t do that – if are you charging and find you need to use the car, it will not disconnect unless you kill the circuit breakers… I’m hoping it might work better if we can get it to talk to the car, but we haven’t succeeded with that either ….. all in all a massive disappointment and not worth the money

My ohme home pro fails to charge my car on a daily basis. Other than automated replies I have had no response from Ohme in a month.

I am delighted with my Ohme charger. Very intelligent and works well with Octopus Go tariff Not had it long so have only charged my car three times, so I am just getting used to it

My dealings with this company were straightforward. Any questions I had were answered quickly. The installation was done quickly. The technician helps me set up the app on my smartphone. I haven’t had the charger long but so far it has worked perfectly.

OHME EV Charger is excellent I have had It installed for over a month and I am very pleased with its reliability. The OHME charger can synchronise with your vehicle app to check current status of your battery and also your electric tariff to optimise the best cost effective way of charging your vehicle via schedule you can setup. The OHME also has a built in Sim for communication which helps when connecting to the OHME app.

From installation to set-up to full use this is a really easy charger to use. The app is easy to follow and is very useful especially in ensuring you charge at the most economical times, or turning it on remotely.

I would recommend that you switch to Octopus if you can as their tarriff is fully supported by Ohme.

Tethered Ohme EV Wall Charger installed 2 weeks ago. Very neat and unobtrusive- seems sturdily built.

App has many features- especially useful if off-peak charging preferred (although our cars can manage this option. I suspect 99% of people will not use these though and it lacks a simple ‘foolproof’ element.

Main frustration is that to optimise the opp’s data requires you to select your car make and model. With 2 PHEVs in our household this involves delving into the apps menus every time you charge a different car. Not very convenient when you get home, with kids bags etc. and easy to accidentally select the wrong model, which can effect charging times.

Would be easily solved by a ‘my cars’ button which saves your cars. Ohme are aware of this and hopefully the app will be improved. Customer service is excellent btw with very quick responses.

I know absolutely nothing about electrics ,but API were very patient and talked me through everything .

The installation was straightforward and the installer explained how it would work and did a very neat job .

Would highly recommend this company and this charger.

I did some research about suitable chargers for our BMW 330 hybrid and the Ohme seemed to be the most recommended. Now installed it seems to work very efficiently and is easy to control from the app on my phone. Not bad looking either!

I use the wall charger – it’s brilliant ! Once installed, it took minutes to setup with my Octopus Go tariff. It doesn’t connect with the VW app. for my ID3 but that hasn’t affected the charging. I just plug in & the Ohme takes care of charging during the cheap rate period.

I don’t have any experience of other chargers, but I’d happily recommend this for use with a VW ID3.

Installed this and used for about 2 months now; its a straightforward smart charger, with a good app, which controls how and when it charges. comes with a 5m tethered lead. Combined with a smart tariff, it can be set to not charge when the power costs over 5p per kWh (or whatever threshhold you set); if however you need it charging for a specific time – or to charge to full as soon as possible starting from NOW, you can set that in the app too. You do need a 3G signal where the charger is – any network, I think.

I put a wooden roof over the charger as the plastic box that is part of it looks like it will get UV damaged in time

Neat box with easy to use app. Works really well with Octopus smart tariffs to charge through the night at the lowest cost. Using with Nissan Leaf.

I chose the Ohme charger mainly after reading other reviews regarding the excellent interaction with Octopus Energy’s Agile (time of use) tariff. I have not been disappointed. However, bear in mind the unit does need a to receive a 3G or 4G mobile phone signal to work.

The unit is compact and unobtrusive. At first I was unsure about the tethered cable but after using it a few times I can see the advantage. No need to start digging the cable out of the boot (and putting it back again!) There are no controls on the unit, just a series of coloured lights and a very small display panel which together indicate the unit’s status.

The Ohme is controlled by a mobile phone app which is in continuous development. The app is very flexible. It allows you to charge your car at the cheapest times of the day or at the press of a button, charge at the maximum rate irrespective of the cost. You have full control. You can even set up a charging schedule that effectively ‘locks’ the charging unit preventing unauthorised use.

If you do encounter a problem or just wish to ask a question, Ohme support is on the ball. You can send/receive messages to the support team directly from the app.

My unit was expertly installed by API who were very professional from start to finish. I was given the option of a installing an earth rod or electronic ground fault protection using a matt:e device. I went for the latter as I had heard of problems with earth rods over time.

I’m very happy with my Ohme unit although, to be fair, this is my first charger so I can’t compare it to anything else.

I’ve had my Ohme charger for 3 months now. Easy to use app and no problems. Very happy.

Brilliant charger that does all you want it to do and more. Small and descrete when fixed to your wall.

Controlled via an app, the Ohme unit doesn’t connect via WiFi but uses its own sim for communication which resolves numerous connectivity issues that may be faced due to weak home network signal depending on the siting of your charge point in relation to your home router.

Ohme integrates seamlessly with many smart electical tariffs and is a must for Ocotopus agile whereby it will select the cheapest 1/2 hour slots for you to minimise cost.

You also have ability to ‘lock’ the charger via the app if you are worried about unauthorised use when youre not at home.

To top if off, Ohme tech support are extremely helpful if needed and I can’t fault their customer service.

The only downside is that Ohme currently doesn’t integrate with solar so look elsewhere if this is required.

Overall I am really pleased with the Ohme unit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this above others.

Not all ‘Smart’ chargers are as ‘Smart’ as this one – couple it with a Agile Octopus Tariff and it automatically picks the cheapest half hour slots to charge. Simple to use, app could do with a bit of refining to make it simpler to for certain functions (e.g. charge for 4 hours starting at ….) but it is easy to use. I’m averaging below 1.8p per mile over the first 4k miles, I’m not complaining at that!

API installed the Ohme Wall Charger 2 months ago. Excellent service with no problems at all very quick installation. The Ohme app links to the Tesla app no problem and talks directly to the Agile Octopus tariff, then charges using the cheapest rate. Two nights ago I was even being paid by Octopus to charge the car! Very pleased would definitely recommend. Suggest buying a different wall plug holder though as the ohme holder has some sharp edges. I bought the EV Charger Type 2 Wall Bracket £19.99 from Amazon.

After alot of research chose the OHME wall charger as it is really compact and easy to use, as stated in earlier review. Had mine fitted in the garage as my driveway is quite narrow. Initially I had a glitch, which was my fault, as didn’t realise I still needed to lock the car after plugging in (even though in the garage). I was already with Octopus on a fixed rate, but switched to Octopus Go, so charge between 00:30 to 04.30 , which costs 0.05p per khw

Ohme works under control of the app. The app is simple but full of functionality and, importantly, it works quickly and accurately. Quite a contrast to the Nissan apps!

This product is really compact and so easy to set up with the app and QR code. Love that it will get over the air updates and the 4G connection means no drop out or wires back to you router as some require.

Comes with a handy bag to store any surplus teathered cable and a mount to store the Type 2 connector.

Linked up to my Octopus Go account and charging at 5p/kWh I’m driving at 1/10th the cost of an ICE.

After sales with Ohme is excellent, same day email response, answer the phone in a couple of rings and the were very proactive in resolving a couple of questions I had to get started (thanks Beth!)

App is very intuitive and set up couldn’t be easier, you just select the your EV from the list, your energy supplier and tariff and that’s it, fully optimised charging.
