My first charger so unable to compare with others, but this unit for this price is brilliant. Not only looks great on the front of my house, but works very well so far. The app is easy to set up and use, and to charger comes with load balancing and cut out as standard. Very glad i purchased and got the black which imho looks nicer than the white

This is my first EV Charger and I looked at several models before deciding on the Hypervolt 2. Most of the chargers out there are very similar. Then are doing the same job and go about it in typically the same way. I wanted to be able to schedule a charge overnight and monitor the status via my phone. Whilst most cover those bases, the Hypervolt delivered on my next requirements.

I wanted a longer than 5m cable and I wanted it tethered. The Hypervolt only comes tethered, but unlike most it has options for longer cables. Pretty much all of the other tethered units are 5m only option. It’s possible to use a longer cable with an untethered model, but I didn’t want to pluging in twice. The longer option on the hypervolt let me put the charger in the optimum position and not worry about which of the two parking spaces at home I park on. The cable can reach and not be a trip hazzard.

The cable management works well and even the longer cable wraps about the unit neatly.

Additionally Wi-Fi connection was availble to aviod running ethernet to the unit or relying on 3G sim cards.

Overall, the unit does what I need. It looks good and is simple to use.

Completely new to the EV market and bewildered by the choice of chargers and requirements for installation. I choose the Hypervolt after reading some reviews and the main appeal was the fact it could be updated, allowing software issues to be fixed and new features added, but also because of the excellent customer service and support that Hypervolt offer.

API guided me through the installation requirements including setting up the charger. Using the app it is so easy to use and offers all the features you could ever want. I did have trouble setting the app up for my wife and an email on Saturday afternoon to Hypervolt proved all the reviews to be right. They got back to me straight away, resolved the issue and even called later to check all was well, service like this, in my experience, is hard to come by.

We are very impressed with API and Hypervolt and would not hesitate to recommend both.

A friend recommended Hypervolt home wall charger. I checked reviews of quite a few other highly rated products on the market, before I finally settling on Hypervolt because of their competitive pricing and customer feedback, especially about their post-sales service. All I had to do was make one phone call. Hypervolt pointed me to one of their approved installers who did a survey, sent me a quote, which I approved, and booked me in. A few days prior to the appointed day, packages containing the charger were delivered to my house. The young man who turned up to install, could not have been more professional, working non-stop to complete the job, test the equipment, walk me through a demo. I tested the equipment and okayed it. It was only after that did I receive the invoice and all required certificates, all done for me by the installers.

Few days down the line, I have had a couple of occasions to call Hypervolt customer service and have been most pleasantly surprised to receive not just an instantaneous response, but proactive follow-up to resolve my query the same day. Thank you for your support Sebastian. And thank you Hypervolt, for a product that works beautifully and for such a responsive and helpful customer service. I would happily recommend Hypervolt to anyone who needs a home wall charger. I am pleased to say that the product works just as it says on their website. Great job, keep it up.

I’m very pleased with my Hypervolt. It’s a clean and simple charger. I got mine in white.

Using the app you can lock it, set schedules (although I have not done that yet), set the LED’s brightness and even turn it into a disco! There are no unnecessary gimmicks with the app. You get a graph of what you’ve used and, when charging, a graph representation of the charging rate.

I’ve connected mine with my Echo Dot so I can control the lock and LEDs and check its status through Alexa.

Really like this charger.

The Black version can be very inconspicuous if you want it to be (leds turned off) Looks good on the wall, easy to use, no problems with app or communications.

I’m a new Tesla M3LR owner and bought this charger after reading product reviews, forum owner reviews, and watching YouTube videos. It hasn’t disappointed. The style is modern with multiple display options, including a change in colour depending on if the charger is dormant, charging, connected, error, etc. The app is easy to setup and off-peak scheduled charging, and ad-hoc charging, has worked flawlessly.

One issue was a change in spec on the new MIC Tesla M3 where the Hypervolt charge cable connector doesn’t always match the car sockets perfectly. Hypervolt, at their own expense, have replaced the connector for all customers where required, and the response from the team has been excellent. A comment that can be extended to API too, who have been excellent

As a new EV owner I researched the range of home chargers and decided that Hypervolt had all I needed. It comes with a fully featured app, includes a software lock to prevent unauthorised use and has been totally reliable. Installation by API was straightforward and thoroughly professional.

I am a month in to using a Hypervolt for my Hyundai BEV Ionic. It is in white as per the pictures on the site, but there is a black version coming later this year.

It is relatively unobtrusive on the side of the house, and the LED’s which can be set up/amended within the app mean it can be all singing and dancing or switched off. I have it set up via Alexa as well, but to date have only used this twice to show interested people.

It has charged my car flawlessly apart from one occasion when it started flashing an error, and the app would not release the plug from the car. I had to use the Hyundai app to release the plug. Once reinserted, it started within about 15 seconds. I believe it may have been me doing something wrong as it was only the second time charging the car.

The app is straightforward to set up with your current price per KWh and you can enable scheduled charging. One good thing about the charger, is that you can also schedule the charger to lock once it has finished charging on the car.

The app has an energy usage and analytics tab. The energy usage tab shows each days charging and you can alter between cost and KWh’s charged. The analytics tab shows the (last session) time it took to charge to your desired level (set by the car), how much you spent, energy used to charge, plus how many KG of Co2 you saved.

Due to having a very weak wifi signal on my drive, it has the option to either connect via wifi or ethernet cable (unlike one of the more expensive competitors).

Verdict

As this is my first home charger, I decided on the Hypervolt due to it being designed and manufactured in the UK, comments made by professional installers, and the future proofing by adding over the air (ota) updates through the units life, as I believe solar compatibility is coming soon. The customer service of the company appears to be first class as well, as I needed clarification on something just after it was installed and I spoke to an agent within 30 seconds of contacting them. I am a happy customer to date and would recommend the charger.
